Travel Sterile Processing Tech in South Carolina

A Travel Sterile Processing Technician will lead sterilization and decontamination workflows in a level I trauma, teaching, Magnet hospital in Charleston, South Carolina on a 13-week contract. The role supports surgical and procedural case demand, supervises sterile processing staff, and helps maintain instrument availability and tray readiness.

• Supervise sterile processing staff across decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage
• Coordinate daily workload, assignments, and workflow priorities
• Monitor tray assembly accuracy, labeling, documentation, and inventory control
• Support reprocessing of instruments, medical supplies, and equipment
• Troubleshoot instrument, equipment, and process issues
• Partner on training, quality initiatives, and service recovery

• 3 years of sterile processing experience
• Prior leadership experience in sterile processing or a related role
• CRCST or CBSPD certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of sterilization principles, infection prevention practices, and instrument sets
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and recordkeeping

• Electronic instrument tracking systems
• Advanced certification such as CIS, CER, or CHL
• Preceptor or trainer experience
