About this job

A Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care in a hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role serves adults and geriatrics in a Level I trauma, teaching hospital and uses Epic charting. Strong communication and critical thinking skills support work on a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess respiratory status and respond to changes in condition
  • Administer oxygen, aerosol, and airway therapies
  • Support ventilator management, weaning, and troubleshooting
  • Perform ABG collection and help interpret results
  • Assist with intubation, bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy care
  • Document care and collaborate with the care team

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
  • BLS
  • Virginia state license
  • 4 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Adult critical care and Epic charting system experience
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience

Preferred Skills

  • ACLS
  • ACCS
  • Specialty ventilation and inhaled therapy experience
