Travel PICU RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse will provide high-acuity care in pediatric critical care and acute pediatric units in Charlottesville, Virginia on a 13-week contract. Care spans PICU, NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric emergency care for neonates through adolescents, with Epic charting and typical ratios from 1:2 to 1:5.

• Monitor and assess critically ill neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
• Administer medications, blood products, and vasoactive infusions
• Manage ventilators, noninvasive respiratory support, and airway care
• Assist with intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tubes, and procedural sedation
• Maintain central lines, arterial lines, ports, PICC lines, and IV access
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care, family education, and Epic documentation

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending licensure accepted
• BLS, NRP, PALS, and Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate
• 2 years of PICU experience; comfort with NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric emergency care
• Epic charting experience; teaching hospital experience; prior travel experience
• Pediatric critical care skills in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, end-tidal CO2, ABGs, dysrhythmias, line care, blood products, suctioning, NG tubes, tracheostomy care, and pediatric dosage calculations

• ACLS
• APHON, CPHON, or OCN certification
• ECMO, Level III NICU, or pediatric CVICU experience
• Trauma Level I or II, charge, or community hospital experience
