Travel PICU RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse will provide critical care for pediatric cardiac and medical patients in a hospital PICU on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit cares for neonates through adolescents, has 25 beds, an average daily census of 23, uses Epic, and works at 1:1 or 1:2 ratios.

• Monitor hemodynamic, cardiac, and neurologic status in critically ill children
• Manage ventilators, airway support, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapies
• Administer blood products, vasoactive infusions, sedation, insulin, and antiarrhythmics
• Care for central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, EVDs, and other invasive devices
• Assist with intubation, procedural sedation, suctioning, and specimen collection
• Document care in Epic and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS and PALS
• 2 years of PICU experience
• 1:2 patient ratio experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Critical care skills with ventilators, airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, blood products, vasoactive infusions, pediatric dosage calculations, and congenital heart disease care

• CRRT
• Pediatric CVICU experience
• Peritoneal dialysis/CAPD experience
• Trauma Level I experience
