Travel PICU RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse will provide critical care for children and newborns in a hospital on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is a teaching hospital environment with Epic charting and typical ratios of 1:2 in PICU and 1:3 to 1:4 in other pediatric areas.

• Provide bedside care for critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients
• Monitor respiratory, hemodynamic and neurologic status
• Administer medications, blood products and vasoactive infusions
• Assist with ventilator support, airway management and oxygen therapy
• Support invasive lines, drains and other critical care procedures
• Coordinate with physicians, therapists and family members
• Document care in Epic

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending licensure accepted before start
• BLS, NRP and PALS
• 2 years of PICU experience and comfort with NICU, acute pediatrics and pediatric emergency care
• Epic charting experience
• Teaching hospital experience and prior travel experience

• ACLS
• APHON, CPHON or OCN
• ECMO, CRRT, ventricular assist devices and post cardiac surgery care
• Level III NICU, trauma level I or II, community hospital, LTAC and charge experience
