Travel PACU RN in Santa Rosa, CA

A Travel PACU Registered Nurse will provide pre-op and phase I and phase II recovery care in an acute care hospital on an 18-week contract in Santa Rosa, California. The unit serves outpatient surgery patients across pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, averages 10 patients daily, has 4 rooms, and uses Epic. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Assess pre-op patients and review histories and orders
• Monitor recovery status, airway, sedation level and vital signs
• Administer IV therapy, medications and blood products as ordered
• Support procedural sedation, pain control and reversal agents
• Provide discharge teaching, medication reconciliation and follow-up calls
• Assist with pediatric and adult outpatient surgery recovery

• California Registered Nurse license, pending accepted
• BLS, ACLS and PALS
• 1 year of PACU or post-anesthesia care experience
• Epic charting system experience
• End-tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment and sedation recovery skills

• Pediatric PACU experience
• Monitored anesthesia care and nerve block recovery
• Central line and port management
• Orthopedic, urology or ENT recovery experience
