Travel Med Surg RN in San Antonio, TX

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will provide care on an orthopedic and surgical unit in a hospital on a 13 week contract in San Antonio, Texas. The unit uses MEDITECH and serves bariatric, orthopedic, and general surgery patients with typical ratios of 1:5 to 1:6.

• Provide direct nursing care to preoperative and postoperative surgical patients
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and coordinate treatments with the care team
• Assist with bariatric, orthopedic, and general surgery procedures
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the charting system
• Use pumps, mobile communication devices, and other unit equipment safely

• Active Texas Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• Medical surgical nursing skills
• Strong assessment, documentation, and teamwork skills

• Bariatric Certification
• Medical Surgical Certification
• Orthopedic Certification
• ACLS certification
