Travel Med Surg RN in Overland Park, KS

A Travel Med Surg Registered Nurse will provide postoperative surgical care in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Overland Park, Kansas. The unit has 20 private beds, typical ratios of 4:1 or 5:1 with a patient care tech, and uses Meditech for documentation.

• Provide postoperative med-surg care for surgical patients
• Monitor telemetry, EKG, capnostream, and wound vac needs
• Assist with ostomy care, NGT management, and bladder scans
• Manage Foley catheters, central lines, JP drains, and IV starts
• Administer blood products, TPN, and other nutritional support
• Support pain control with PCA, epidural, and medication delivery
• Document care in Meditech and coordinate with unit support

• Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas
• BLS certification
• Med-surg experience
• Postoperative care skills
• IV therapy, blood administration, and central line care
