Travel Med Surg RN in Overland Park, KS

A Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse will provide post-operative care in a hospital surgical specialty unit on a 13-week contract in Overland Park, Kansas. The unit has 20 private beds, uses MediTech charting, and averages 4:1 total patient care or 5:1 with a patient care tech.

• Provide post-operative medical-surgical nursing care
• Assess patients and monitor telemetry status
• Manage ostomy care, drains, wounds, and urinary catheters
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and nutritional support
• Support IV starts and maintain medication safety
• Coordinate care with patient care techs and unit staff

• Kansas Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• Med-surgical nursing experience
• Post-operative care experience
• IV therapy, blood administration, ostomy, drain, and wound care skills
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
