Travel Surgical Tech in Columbia, SC

A Travel Surgical Tech Certified Surgical Technologist will assist with general surgery cases in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Columbia, South Carolina. The unit has 9 operating rooms, averages 10 to 16 cases daily, charts in Epic, and includes robotics, orthopedic, neuro and eye cases. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical cases
• Pass instruments, supplies and sutures to the surgical team
• Maintain aseptic technique and support sterile setup and cleanup
• Assist with general surgery, robotic, orthopedic, neuro and eye procedures
• Count instruments, sponges and supplies during case workflow
• Support care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in surgery

• BLS certification
• NBSTSA certification
• 1+ years of OR experience with general surgery cases
• Aseptic technique and ambulatory OR skills

• Orthopedic, neuro, eye and robotic case experience
• Epic charting system experience
• First assist exposure
• Teaching hospital or trauma level I experience
