Travel Sterile Processing Tech in Torrance, CA

A Travel Sterile Processing Tech Certified Registered Central Service Technician will support sterile processing operations in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Torrance, California. It handles 65 to 70 surgical cases daily across spine, ortho, neuro, robotic, plastics, burn, general, eye, dental, and ENT. Robotics, sterilization equipment, and electronic tracking are used, and first-time travelers are accepted.

• Decontaminate reusable surgical instruments and equipment
• Assemble, inspect, and prepare instrument sets and trays
• Wrap, label, and sterilize items for surgical use
• Operate washers, sterilizers, and decontamination equipment
• Perform biological and chemical indicator checks
• Support high-level disinfection and immediate-use steam sterilization
• Track instruments and trays through processing steps

• Active CRCST or CBSPD certification
• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of sterile processing experience
• Experience with decontamination, sterilization, wrapping, and set assembly
• Experience with orthopedics and total joints
• Experience with biological and chemical indicators and steam sterilization monitoring

• IAHCSMM or HSPA certification
• Case cart experience
• Laparoscopic, neurology, and ophthalmology instrument sets
• Dental, cardiovascular, thoracic, spine, and cranial instrument sets
