Travel Sterile Processing Tech in North Charleston, SC

A Travel Sterile Processing Technician Team Lead will oversee sterile processing operations in a hospital in North Charleston, South Carolina for a 13-week contract. The department supports surgical case demand in a Level I trauma center, teaching setting, and Magnet hospital with instrument tracking and clean-dirty workflow control.

• Supervise sterile processing technicians across decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage
• Coordinate daily workflow to support surgical and procedural case demand
• Audit tray assembly, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling for accuracy
• Oversee instrument tracking, documentation, and inventory control
• Troubleshoot instrument, equipment, and process issues
• Support infection prevention, clean-dirty separation, and quality improvement

• High school diploma or GED
• CRCST or CBSPD certification
• Three years of sterile processing experience
• Prior leadership experience
• Knowledge of sterilization principles, microbiology, infection prevention, and specialty sets
• Basic computer proficiency and strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Advanced sterile processing certification such as CIS, CER, or CHL
• Preceptor or trainer experience
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems
