Travel Social Worker in Spokane, WA

A Travel Social Worker Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker will provide crisis social work support in an acute care hospital emergency department on a 26-week contract in Spokane, Washington. It serves adults and pediatrics with mental health and substance use needs, averages 7 patients, uses Epic charting, and is in a Level II trauma teaching hospital. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Conduct crisis and biopsychosocial assessments for adults and pediatrics
• Evaluate risk for danger to self, danger to others, and grave disability
• Provide crisis intervention for psychiatric and substance use concerns
• Recommend level of care and support disposition planning
• Document evaluations and communicate with the multidisciplinary team
• Coordinate referrals and discharge planning with internal and external resources

• Washington Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist credential
• 3 years of crisis assessment experience in an emergency department
• Epic charting system experience

• Case management and discharge education
• Adult protective services, child protective services, and foster care experience
• Trauma-related concerns, cultural awareness, and patient advocacy
• Medicaid, Medicare, and power of attorney knowledge
