Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care in a hospital setting on a 26-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role supports a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care unit, high-risk deliveries and acute care pediatrics.

• Provide respiratory care for neonates, infants, children and adolescents
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Manage high-frequency ventilation, high-flow oxygen and noninvasive support
• Support intubation, extubation, suctioning and tracheostomy care
• Interpret ABGs and collaborate on therapy changes
• Document care and communicate with the multidisciplinary team

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and Virginia state license
• Basic Life Support certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
• 1 year of NICU and PICU experience
• Level IV NICU experience
• Competence with high-frequency jet and oscillator ventilation, ABG interpretation and neonatal airway care

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
• Cardiac PICU experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Experience with inhaled therapies and advanced pediatric respiratory care
