Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for neuro tele patients in a short term acute care hospital in Lubbock, Texas on a 13-week contract. The 29-bed unit averages 27 patients a day, uses EPIC, and serves stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring, and neurosurgical patients. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
• Administer and manage cardiac, insulin, heparin, and vasoactive drips
• Provide care for stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring, and neurosurgical patients
• Support central and peripheral line care and blood product administration
• Use oxygen therapy, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway support
• Follow isolation precautions and assist with rapid response care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and patient families

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• 2 years of PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown experience
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia management skills
• Experience with EPIC charting
• Experience managing cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin protocols, and vasoactive drips

• Teaching hospital experience
• Community hospital experience
• Level II trauma experience
