Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for neuro telemetry and stroke patients in a short term acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Lubbock, Texas. The unit has 29 beds, uses EPIC, and serves epilepsy monitoring and neurosurgical patients at a Level II trauma center.

• Monitor telemetry rhythms and report dysrhythmias
• Assess neuro and stroke patients for changes in condition
• Administer cardiac, heparin, and insulin drips per protocol
• Manage central and peripheral lines and blood products
• Respond to rapid response and code situations
• Collaborate with therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and other disciplines
• Maintain isolation precautions and safe patient handling

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• 2 years of progressive care, telemetry, or stepdown experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response support, and line care
• Experience with cardiac, heparin, and insulin drips and any charting system

• Teaching hospital experience
• Community hospital experience
• Level II trauma center experience
