Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for adult transplant patients in a stepdown unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit serves kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients in the post-op and post-transplant phase. Epic is used for charting, and patients may need arterial line monitoring, peritoneal dialysis, vasoactive drip support, and complex glucose management.

• Provide nursing care for adult solid organ transplant and stepdown patients
• Monitor hemodynamics, telemetry, and arterial line status
• Administer ordered insulin and vasoactive infusions
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis, blood products, and drain care
• Observe patients after biopsy and other transplant-related procedures
• Coordinate with rapid response, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and other teams
• Document assessments, treatments, and responses in Epic

• Virginia Registered Nurse license or pending licensure
• BLS and ACLS
• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit, stepdown, or intermediate care experience
• Epic charting experience
• Adult telemetry, central line, insulin infusion, and hemodialysis support skills

• Arterial line management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• High Flow Nasal Cannula experience
• Teaching hospital experience
