Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for adult solid organ transplant patients in a hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit uses Epic charting, averages about 25 patients a day and has 28 beds, with arterial line monitoring, peritoneal dialysis and complex glucose management.

• Assess post-transplant adults and report changes in condition
• Monitor telemetry, arterial lines and hemodynamic status
• Administer ordered therapies, including insulin and blood products
• Manage central lines, drains and feeding tubes
• Support post-op, post-biopsy and readmission care
• Document care and coordinate with interdisciplinary services

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS and ACLS
• 2 years of progressive care, stepdown or PCU experience
• Experience caring for 3-5 patients
• Epic charting system experience
• Skills in telemetry, insulin drips, central lines, blood products and hemodialysis support

• Arterial line management and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Vasoactive drip support, HFNC and phlebotomy
• PICC access, IV starts and wound care
• Teaching hospital experience
