Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Anchorage, AK

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide care for high-acuity stepdown patients in a hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Anchorage, Alaska. The unit has 19 beds, a 3:1 ratio, and uses EPIC. It serves patients needing close monitoring, ventilatory support, and IV infusions.

• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer and titrate IV infusions and cardiac drips
• Manage BiPAP, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, drains, and feeding tubes
• Perform focused assessments, intake and output tracking, and hourly safety rounds
• Coordinate bedside handoff and care for rapid admissions and ICU transfers
• Assist with emergent cardioversion and urgent interventions

• Active Alaska Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
• 1 year of step-down ICU, IMC, or PCU experience
• 1 year of telemetry or cardiac monitoring experience
• Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program

• Trach care with continuous BiPAP or long-term ventilatory support
• Experience with titratable dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, Cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone infusions
• CIWA assessment and alcohol or drug withdrawal care
