Travel Pre-Op RN in San Antonio, TX

A Travel Pre-Op Short Stay Registered Nurse will care for patients preparing for surgery and short-stay recovery in a hospital unit on a 13-week contract in San Antonio, Texas. The unit has 13 beds, uses electronic records, and serves general surgery, orthopedics, plastics, and cardiac catheterization patients. It uses bedside monitoring, EKGs, glucometer checks, and a 3:1 ratio.

• Prepare patients for surgery and short-stay recovery
• Complete preoperative assessments and vital sign monitoring
• Start and maintain IV access
• Assist with preoperative teaching and readiness checks
• Document care in the electronic record
• Coordinate with the surgical team for patient flow
• Support recovery for general surgery, orthopedics, plastics, and cardiac catheterization cases

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• PreOp experience
• Meditech Magic experience

• Phase 2 experience
• Strong IV access skills
