Travel Pre-Op RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric Pre-Op Registered Nurse will provide preoperative and postoperative care in a pediatric unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit serves infants, pediatrics, and adolescents in a 10-bed preoperative and postoperative unit with a 4-bed surgical observation unit and Epic charting.

• Prepare children and families for surgery
• Monitor postoperative recovery and observation needs
• Assess pain, airway, and vital signs
• Coordinate care with anesthesia and surgery teams
• Educate families on recovery and discharge needs
• Support safe discharge planning and handoff
• Respond to changes in condition and escalate concerns

• Virginia Registered Nurse license or pending Virginia licensure
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• 2 years of inpatient pediatric pre-op, PACU, or recovery experience
• Epic charting experience
• Trauma Level I experience

• End-tidal CO2 monitoring and airway assessment
• Pediatric IV access, central line, and arterial line management
• Procedural sedation, pain management, and discharge instruction
• Medication reconciliation and blood product administration
