Travel Pre-Op RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric Pre-Op Registered Nurse will provide perioperative care for pediatric surgical patients in a hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit includes pediatric preoperative, postoperative, and surgical observation care for infants, children, and adolescents, with Epic charting and a 4-bed observation area. It supports overnight recovery and family-centered discharge planning.

• Prepare pediatric patients and families for surgery
• Monitor recovery and respond to changes in condition
• Manage pain, comfort, and postoperative needs
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, surgery, and support teams
• Provide education and discharge planning for families
• Document assessments and recovery progress in Epic

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• 2 years of pediatric perioperative, Pedi PACU, Phase I PACU, and Phase II Recovery experience
• Inpatient pediatric patient management experience
• Trauma Level I experience
• Epic charting system experience

• End-tidal CO2 monitoring
• Airway assessment and procedural sedation monitoring
• Arterial line, central line, and PICC management
• Previous charge experience
