About this job

A Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse will care for critically ill children in a pediatric intensive care unit on a 13-week contract in Houston, Texas. The unit has 14-22 beds, a 4:1 med/surg ratio, and Meditech charting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care for critically ill children
  • Monitor patient status and respond to changes in acuity
  • Assist with cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, and lumbar punctures
  • Support seizure management and noninvasive cardiology care
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in a supportive unit
  • Document care in Meditech and coordinate daily patient needs

Qualifications

  • Texas Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
