Travel PICU RN in Anchorage, AK

A Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse will provide critical care for children in a hospital pediatric intensive care unit in Anchorage, Alaska on a 13-week contract. The unit serves neonates through adolescents with a mixed PICU and pediatric census, 19 beds, and Cerner charting in an acute care Magnet hospital. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor critically ill pediatric patients and respond to changes in acuity
• Manage ventilator support, airway care, and respiratory therapies
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies
• Assist with intubation, procedural sedation, central lines, and lumbar punctures
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring, neurologic checks, and seizure care
• Coordinate care with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams

• Alaska Registered Nurse license; compact license accepted with Alaska license before start
• Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• 2 years of PICU experience
• Pediatric critical care skills with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, ABGs, IV vasopressors, and central line care
• Pediatric dosage calculations and care of mixed-acuity pediatric patients

• Cerner experience
• Charge nurse experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
