Travel Physical Therapist in Apple Valley, CA

A Travel Acute Care Physical Therapist will provide inpatient therapy for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital on a 13-week contract in Apple Valley, California. The unit treats orthopedic, cardiac, medical, fracture, and post-stroke cases and uses Epic. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Evaluate patients and establish plans of care
• Treat gait, balance, strength, and mobility needs
• Assist with transfers, assistive devices, and safe mobility
• Instruct patients and families on home exercise and discharge needs
• Perform reassessments and update goals as progress changes
• Coordinate therapy care with the interdisciplinary team

• California Physical Therapist license
• Basic Life Support certification
• 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience
• Acute care evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning skills

• Epic charting system experience
• Home exercise program and patient family education
• Experience with cognitive disorders and dementia care
• Experience with bed alarms and specialty beds
