Travel PACU RN in Torrance, CA

A Travel PACU Registered Nurse will provide recovery care in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Torrance, California. The unit serves neonates through geriatrics in a 27-bed recovery unit with 1:2 ratios. It supports cardiovascular, bariatric, ENT, eye, spine, burn and pediatric surgeries.

• Assess post-anesthesia patients on arrival
• Monitor airway, circulation, pain and sedation
• Manage arterial lines, ventilated patients and other recovery needs
• Perform circulation checks and dysrhythmia recognition
• Provide discharge instructions and coordinate with the care team
• Support adult and pediatric surgical recovery

• California Registered Nurse license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications
• 2 years of PACU experience
• Previous ICU or ED experience
• Prior travel experience
• Phase I and Phase II recovery experience

• Adult and pediatric recovery for orthopedic, ENT, ophthalmology, vascular and general surgery cases
• Airway assessment, arterial line care and ventilated patient management
• Dysrhythmia recognition, pain control and discharge teaching
