Travel Oncology RN in Fredericksburg, VA

A Travel Oncology Registered Nurse will provide inpatient care for adults and geriatrics in a medical oncology and palliative care unit at a short-term acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The unit uses Epic, supports a 1:6 ratio, and serves patients with oncology and complex medical needs; first-time travelers are welcome.

• Provide inpatient care for adults and geriatrics with oncology and complex medical needs
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications as ordered
• Monitor for neutropenic, isolation, and treatment-related complications
• Manage IV access, ports, and PICC lines
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and symptom care
• Collaborate with pharmacy, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of inpatient oncology experience
• Blood and blood product administration experience
• Port access and management, PICC line care, and IV start and maintenance
• Neutropenic and isolation precautions experience
• Community hospital and Level II trauma experience

• Epic charting experience
