Travel Oncology RN in Anchorage, AK

A Travel Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse will provide inpatient oncology care in an acute hospital on a 13-week contract in Anchorage, Alaska. The unit cares for adults and geriatrics, averages 46 patients, uses Epic, and is a Magnet Level II trauma setting. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Administer chemotherapy and supportive medications
• Monitor blood products, IV therapy, and central lines
• Assess oncology symptoms and communicate changes
• Manage ports, PICC lines, and infusion pumps
• Educate patients and families on treatment and precautions
• Maintain isolation, neutropenic, and safe handling practices

• Alaska Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification
• 1 year of oncology experience
• Chemo administration, port management, blood product administration, and Epic charting

• 2 years of oncology experience
• Experience with cancer-related complications, dysrhythmias, and sepsis care
• Experience with chest tube, tracheostomy, and ostomy care
• Epic charting system experience
