Travel NICU RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for neonates and infants in a neonatal intensive care unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit has 54 beds and serves a high-acuity population with respiratory, cardiac, neurologic, gastrointestinal, and genetic needs. Epic charting is used.

• Provide bedside care for critically ill neonates and infants
• Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilator support
• Monitor fluids, medications, hemodynamics, and therapeutic cooling
• Perform admissions, lab draws, IV placement, and line care
• Assist with intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, and chest tube procedures
• Support tracheostomy, ostomy, wound, and drain care

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending acceptable
• Basic Life Support, NRP, and Dr Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate
• 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience
• Epic charting experience and 3-patient assignment experience
• Ventilator, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal dosage calculation skills
• Central line, UAC, UVC, chest tube, tracheostomy, ostomy, phlebotomy, IV placement, lumbar puncture assistance, IV vasopressor, dysrhythmia, and post-abdominal surgery care skills
