Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Med Surg / Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care on a 22-bed acute care unit for primarily general surgery and trauma patients in Charlottesville, Virginia on a 13-week contract. The unit uses Epic and supports cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry.

• Monitor post-surgical and trauma patients
• Assess telemetry, oxygenation, and respiratory status
• Administer blood products and ordered therapies
• Manage central lines, PICCs, drains, tubes, and tracheostomies
• Support heparin and insulin protocols
• Respond to rapid response and code situations
• Document care in Epic

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Prior travel experience
• Blood product administration and central line, PICC, chest tube, drain, feeding tube, and tracheostomy care
• Heparin and IV insulin protocol experience, with HFNC, oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, and telemetry monitoring

• ACLS certification
• BiPAP / CPAP management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Trauma Level I experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
