Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse will care for post-surgical and trauma patients in a 22-bed acute care hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit also serves a small medical population, uses Epic charting, and typically runs 1:4 ratios.

• Provide nursing care for post-surgical, trauma, and medical patients
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies per protocol
• Manage lines, drains, tubes, oxygen support, and tracheostomy care
• Monitor telemetry, vital signs, and respiratory status, and escalate changes
• Coordinate with rapid response, wound care, therapy, and other support teams
• Document care in Epic and follow isolation precautions

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of medical surgical telemetry experience
• Epic charting experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Blood product administration, central line, chest tube, feeding tube, heparin, IV insulin, and tracheostomy care skills

• ACLS certification
• BiPAP and CPAP management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Trauma I and teaching hospital experience
