Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Med Surg / Telemetry Registered Nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital med-surg telemetry unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The 12-bed unit uses Epic and serves patients with respiratory, renal, cardiac, infectious, and diabetic conditions.

• Monitor telemetry and assess rhythm changes
• Administer heparin and insulin infusions per protocol
• Provide care for patients with respiratory, renal, cardiac, infectious, and diabetic conditions
• Perform wound care and support wound vac management
• Assist with chest tubes, PCA pumps, and tracheostomy-related care
• Use isolation precautions and coordinate with the care team

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending allowed
• BLS certification
• 1 year of med-surg telemetry experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Wound care, wound vac, chest tube, PCA, and isolation precautions experience

• Tracheostomy care and management
• Charge nurse experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Trauma Level I experience
