Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Brownsville, TX

A Travel Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide direct care on a stroke medical-surgical telemetry unit in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Brownsville, Texas. The unit has 24 beds, a 7:1 ratio, and Meditech charting.

• Provide bedside care for stroke and medical-surgical patients
• Perform neuro assessments and monitor telemetry
• Start and maintain IV therapy
• Deliver wound care and support mobility needs
• Assist with central lines, PEG tubes, and endoscopy or colonoscopy care
• Document care in Meditech and report changes in condition
• Support unit flow and patient safety

• Active Texas Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification
• IV therapy, wound care, and neuro assessment skills
• Stroke and medical-surgical nursing skills

• Charge nurse or resource nurse background
• Independent practice in a fast-paced unit
