Travel Med Surg RN in Salem, VA

A Travel RN - Med Surg Registered Nurse will provide care for post-operative medical-surgical patients in an acute care hospital in Salem, Virginia on a 13-week contract. The 36-bed unit uses Meditech and cares for patients at a 1:6 ratio with Baxter and Medfusion pumps.

• Assess and monitor medical-surgical patients
• Provide post-operative nursing care
• Manage wound care and dressing changes
• Maintain and monitor drains
• Administer medications and IV therapies
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient care in the charting system

• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia
• BLS certification
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Safe, patient-centered bedside nursing skills

• Familiarity with post-operative patients
• Dressing change and wound care experience
• Drain management experience
