Travel Maternal-Newborn RN in Overland Park, KS

A Travel Maternal Newborn Registered Nurse will care for postpartum women and newborns in a hospital unit on a 13 week contract in Overland Park, Kansas. The 26-bed unit uses CPN and Meditech and typically cares for 6-8 patients per nurse.

• Assess postpartum women and newborns
• Monitor vital signs, glucose, and temperature
• Identify sepsis, VTE/DVT, pressure injury, suicide, and malignant hyperthermia risks
• Provide discharge education and reassessment
• Manage pain, priorities, and patient needs
• Assist with circumcisions and newborn care
• Use AIDET and BSSR in communication

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse license
• BLS and NRP
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Postpartum and newborn assessment skills
• Discharge teaching, prioritization, and time management skills

• BSN
