Travel Maternal-Newborn RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Maternal-Newborn Registered Nurse will care for postpartum adults and newborns in a mother-baby unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The unit has an average daily census of 15 to 30, uses Epic, and supports baby-friendly rooming in for newborns from 36.0 weeks and over 2000 grams.

• Provide postpartum and antepartum nursing care
• Assess newborns and couplets
• Administer magnesium, insulin, antihypertensives and IV antibiotics
• Support vaginal and cesarean delivery recovery
• Teach breastfeeding, breast milk storage and discharge care
• Assist with circumcision care, phototherapy and thermoregulation
• Monitor for hemorrhage, hypertension and newborn hypoglycemia

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending accepted
• BLS and NRP
• 1 year of maternal-newborn nursing experience
• Epic charting experience
• Postpartum, antepartum and newborn care skills
• IV initiation, blood product and medication administration skills

• ACLS
• Electronic fetal monitoring certification
• High-risk antepartum care
• Magnesium sulfate therapy and insulin drip experience
