Travel Intermediate Care RN in Arlington, VA

A Travel Intermediate Care Registered Nurse will care for adults in an intermediate care unit focused on pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma patients during a 13-week contract in Arlington, Virginia. The unit uses Epic charting and serves adults with advanced airway needs, cardiac drips, and med/surg overflow; first-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor adults with pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma conditions in intermediate care
• Manage ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen support
• Assess telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias and cardiac medication needs
• Assist with pre and post cardiac catheterization care and related monitoring
• Maintain central, PICC, and peripheral lines
• Support patients with chest tubes, Zephyr valves, and med/surg overflow needs
• Coordinate with Rapid Response and other support teams

• Active Virginia or compact Registered Nurse license in hand
• BLS and ACLS certification
• 2 years of PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown experience
• Recent cardiac telemetry experience
• Ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula proficiency
• Epic charting system experience

• Peripheral nerve block catheters
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Previous charge experience
