Travel ICU RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for adults and geriatric patients in a neurosurgical intensive care unit in a short term acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Lubbock, Texas. The unit has 16 beds, averages 13 patients, uses Epic, and serves stroke and post-craniotomy patients; first-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor neurological status and perform frequent neuro checks
• Assist with bedside intubation and external ventricular drain care
• Manage ventilated patients, arterial lines, and vasoactive drips
• Titrate cardiac drips and support continuous IV sedation
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias and respond to clinical changes
• Provide care for stroke and post-neurosurgery patients

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Two years of ICU experience
• Epic charting system experience

• Post craniotomy care
• External ventricular drain management
• Ventilator management
• Trauma Level II experience
