Travel ICU RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide care for adults and geriatrics in a neurosurgical intensive care unit at a hospital in Lubbock, Texas on a 13-week contract. The unit has 16 beds, an average daily census of 13, Epic charting, 1:2 and 1:3 ratios, stroke care, and Level II trauma support. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor neurological status and perform frequent neuro checks
• Assist with bedside EVD placement and bedside intubation
• Manage ventilated patients, arterial lines and central lines
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias
• Provide post-neurosurgery and stroke care

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS and NIHSS
• 2 years of ICU experience
• Epic charting experience
• Arterial line, ventilator and central line management
• Continuous IV sedation, dysrhythmia and ABG interpretation

• Neuro ICU experience
• Stroke or CVA management
• External ventricular drain, ICP and lumbar drain experience
• Level II trauma experience
