Travel ICU RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel ICU Registered Nurse will care for adults in a neurosurgical intensive care unit in a short term acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Lubbock, Texas. The 16-bed unit uses Epic, has a 1:2 to 1:3 ratio, and sits in a level II trauma center serving stroke and post-neurosurgery patients. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor neurologic status and perform frequent neuro checks
• Support bedside intubation and ventilator care
• Assist with external ventricular drain care and neuro monitoring
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and vasoactive drips
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias
• Provide post-neurosurgery care for stroke and neurosurgical patients
• Maintain isolation precautions and safe ICU practices

• Active Texas Registered Nurse license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
• 2 years of intensive care unit experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Arterial line, ventilator, central line, and vasoactive drip management

• External ventricular drain, ICP monitoring, lumbar drain, and post craniotomy care
• Stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and trauma level II experience
• Ventilator management, fresh tracheostomy care, and high flow nasal cannula
• Blood product administration, procedural sedation monitoring, IV insulin protocols, and PICC line management
