Travel ED RN in Walnut Creek, CA

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care in a level 2 trauma hospital emergency department on a 13-week contract in Walnut Creek, California. The 44-bed unit uses Epic and serves a high elderly population with fast turnover and a 1:4 ratio.

• Assess and stabilize emergency patients with STEMI, stroke, trauma, syncope, weakness, and falls
• Triage ambulance patients at the bedside and prioritize care needs
• Start IV lines, draw blood as needed, and support medication delivery
• Monitor patient status and respond to changing conditions in a fast-paced unit
• Document care accurately in Epic and coordinate with the care team
• Work closely with transport, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and providers

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS certifications
• 2+ years of recent emergency department experience
• Prior travel emergency department experience
• Epic experience
• Strong emergency assessment and critical thinking skills

• CEN certification
• TNCC certification
• 3-5 years of emergency department experience
• Trauma experience
• Pediatrics experience
