Travel ED RN in Walnut Creek, CA

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will care for emergency patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Walnut Creek, California. The unit is a Level II trauma emergency department with about 44 beds, a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, Epic charting, and a high elderly patient mix.

• Triage ambulance and walk-in patients at the bedside
• Assess and monitor patients with STEMI, stroke, syncope, weakness, trauma, and falls
• Start IVs, draw blood with IV access, and manage infusions
• Support emergency treatments and trauma procedures, including arterial lines
• Document care in Epic and coordinate with RT, phlebotomy, transport, and case management
• Respond to rapid patient changes in a busy emergency department

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
• 2+ years of recent emergency department experience
• Prior travel experience
• Epic charting experience

• CEN certification
• TNCC
• 3-5 years of emergency department experience
• Trauma and pediatrics experience
