Travel ED RN in Mcallen, TX

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care in a freestanding emergency department in Mcallen, Texas on a 13-week contract. The unit has 10 beds, uses Meditech, serves patients of all ages, and works with a 1:5 ratio.

• Perform triage and prioritize emergency care for patients of all ages
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans in Meditech
• Assist with splinting, moderate sedation, chest tube insertion, and central line placement
• Support arterial blood gas collection, lumbar puncture preparation, and nebulizer treatments
• Prepare patients and team members for obstetric deliveries, rapid sequence intubation, and mechanical ventilation setup
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology staff, and fellow nurses in a team-based emergency setting

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course, and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certifications
• Meditech proficiency
• Strong triage and prioritization skills
• Comfort caring for patients of all ages

• Bilingual English and Spanish
• Level 1 and 2 trauma center experience
• Obstetric delivery assistance, rapid sequence intubation, and mechanical ventilation setup
