Travel ED RN in Downey, CA

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care in an acute care hospital in Downey, California on a 15-week contract. The unit serves neonates through geriatrics, is a STEMI and stroke receiving facility, and uses Cerner in a 35-bed emergency department.

• Manage adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Perform triage and support rapid patient assessment
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and ABGs
• Assist with arterial lines, central lines, and blood products
• Administer IV sedation, vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Start and maintain IV access and collect phlebotomy specimens
• Support care for stroke, neuro, trauma, and ventilated patients

• California Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS
• 2 years of emergency department experience
• Prior travel experience
• Experience with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial lines, central lines, blood products, IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, procedural sedation, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Experience caring for stroke, trauma, neuro, pediatric, and adult emergency patients

• TNCC
• OCN
• Teaching hospital experience
• Level I trauma experience
• Level II trauma experience
