Travel SICU RN in Fredericksburg, VA

A Travel Surgical Intensive Care Registered Nurse will provide critical care for complex surgical patients in a short-term acute care hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia on a 13-week contract. The 38-bed unit serves adults and geriatrics with Epic charting and 1:2-3 assignments in a Level II trauma center. It handles trauma, cardiovascular surgery and neurosurgery cases, and first-time travelers are welcome.

• Manage complex surgical and cardiovascular ICU patients
• Monitor hemodynamics, dysrhythmias and arterial lines
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions
• Support ventilator care, CRRT and blood product administration
• Assist with bedside procedures and central line care
• Coordinate care for trauma, open-heart recovery and multisystem organ failure

• Virginia or compact Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS and NIHSS
• 2 years of intensive care experience
• Arterial line management, central line care, ventilator care, blood product administration, dysrhythmia management, CRRT and vasoactive drip titration
• Teaching hospital experience, community hospital experience and Level II trauma experience

• Strong CVICU experience
• TNCC and CSC
• Chest tube insertion and removal assistance, ICP monitoring
• ABG interpretation, procedural sedation monitoring, pulmonary artery line monitoring and ventilator management
