Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for neuro telemetry patients in a short term acute care hospital during a 13-week contract in Lubbock, Texas. The unit has 29 beds, an average daily census of 27, and a 1:3 to 1:4 ratio. It serves stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring and neurosurgical patients, uses EPIC, and welcomes first-time travelers.

• Monitor telemetry and assess neurological and cardiac changes
• Administer ordered medications, drips and oxygen support
• Interpret dysrhythmias and respond with rapid response teams
• Care for stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring and neurosurgical patients
• Manage central and peripheral lines, blood products and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with therapy, pharmacy and interdisciplinary staff

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS and NIHSS
• 2 years of progressive care, telemetry or stepdown experience
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience
• Central and peripheral line care experience
• Charting system experience

• Teaching hospital experience
• Community hospital experience
• Level II trauma experience
