Travel Pharmacist in Sitka, AK

A Travel Inpatient Pharmacist will review and dispense medications, provide counseling, and support safe drug therapy in the inpatient pharmacy in Sitka, Alaska on a 13-week contract. The role reviews prescriptions, supports inventory control, and works with prescribers and care teams on medication management.

• Review prescriptions for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and lab values
• Consult with prescribers to clarify orders and resolve therapy concerns
• Counsel patients on medication use, strength, and expected effects
• Enter prescriptions and verify completed orders with accurate documentation
• Manage drug inventory and support formulary selection
• Provide chart reviews, refill support, and medication therapy management
• Assist with quality improvement, education, and technician oversight

• Active Alaska Registered Pharmacist license
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
• 2 years of experience
• Computer application skills
• Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and 3 years of hospital or ambulatory clinic pharmacy experience for pharmacists licensed before 2003
