Travel Medical Assistant in Tarzana, CA

A Travel Medical Assistant will support outpatient orthopedics as a Medical Assistant in Tarzana, California on a 13-week contract. The unit sees 50-60 patients daily and uses Epic.

• Obtain vital signs and pulse oximetry
• Record histories, medications and allergies
• Perform venipuncture and blood draws
• Complete authorization forms and insurance verification
• Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
• Assist with orthopedic care, dressing changes and wound care

• 2 years of outpatient medical assistant experience
• Medical Assistant diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program
• High school diploma or GED
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC
• Prior travel experience
• Venipuncture and blood draw skills

• CMA or RMA certification
• Orthopedics, cast care/removal and wound care experience
• Epic charting system experience
