Travel Medical Assistant in Los Angeles, CA

A Travel Medical Assistant will support outpatient care for adults and geriatrics in Los Angeles, California on a 13-week contract. Epic is used for charting, and the role focuses on routine clinical support in an outpatient setting.

• Room patients and collect histories, medications, and allergies
• Obtain vital signs, heights, weights, and pulse oximetry readings
• Perform venipuncture and prepare specimens for labeling and transport
• Assist with injections, immunizations, and point-of-care testing
• Obtain EKGs and support urine, strep, and glucose testing
• Handle telephone triage, follow-up calls, and pharmacy refill requests

• High school diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program
• BLS certification
• 3 years of Medical Assistant experience, including 1 year of recent outpatient experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Core outpatient Medical Assistant skills, including rooming, vital signs, venipuncture, injections, specimen handling, EKGs, and point-of-care testing

• CMA certification
• Phlebotomy certification
• Previous oncology experience
• General family practice or internal medicine experience
