Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Pomona, CA

A Travel Med Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse will care for adults and geriatrics on a medical-surgical telemetry unit in Pomona, California on a 13-week contract. The hospital is Magnet, teaching and a Level II trauma center, with Cerner charting and stroke-focused care. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor telemetry and report rhythm changes
• Provide nursing care for medical-surgical, cardiac, neuro and stroke patients
• Assess adults and geriatrics and update the plan of care
• Administer medications and support pre/post neurosurgery care
• Coordinate with therapy, respiratory and pharmacy teams
• Educate patients and families on recovery and safety
• Document care in Cerner

• California Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS and NIHSS
• 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Stroke patient care experience
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• CVA, intracranial bleed and pre/post neurosurgery care

• Medical-surgical experience
• Cerner charting experience
• ICU or ED background
• Charge nurse background, ventilator management, conscious sedation and Trauma Level I experience
